Mammoth Springs - Bozeman
After checking out Mammoth Hot Springs on the north end of Yellowstone, we drove to Bozeman. There was a Volkswagon dealership there that where we wanted to try get the car fixed.
We all slept on the way there while James drove. The town was cute. We checked into the hostel which was for sale, freshened up and went out to dinner. It was James second to last night so Shash was treating us. There was nothing much going on in Bozeman so all we found was a simple Chinese restaurant.
Monday, August 13th
Bozeman - Missoula
There weren't able to see the car so we drove on to Missoula. In Missoula we were able to get the car fixed in about an hour. After that we went to an Internet café. Chatted with the owners, they were very sweet.
We found a really nice Indian restaurant for dinner. We decided that this would be the farewell dinner for James. That night we stayed in a KOA cabin.
Tuesday, August 14th
Missoula - Spokane - Sun Lake
The next morning we drove to Coeur D'Alene. Coeur D'Alene was a cute little resort town built around a large lake. Very cute. After lunch, a swim and some lazing on the beach, we drove on to Spokane, ID to drop James off at the bus station. He was heading for Seattle to fly back to NY.
From there we drove northwest through vast wheat fields. It was gorgeous. We saw an amazing sunset at a rest stop. Finally long after dark we found a campsite at Sun Lake.
Wednesday,
August 15th
Sun Lake - Cashmere - Wenatchee - Seattle
Our campsite turned out to be quite a family spot and after having a skanky shower, we chatted to a cute little kid.
From there, we drove to Cashmere and tried to find the candy factory but couldn't. Instead we got some food and moved on.
We were in Washington now and of course WA is famous for its orchards. We stopped at a roadside fruit market and bought tons of fruit. They were delicious.
We drove through the funniest town. Every building had a Bavarian style. Apparently the town had done it a couple of years back to attract tourism from Seattle.
Nearing Seattle, we drove through a mountain pass alongside the Wenatchee River. We stopped for a little and we had a quick swim. The water was freezing but it was gorgeous.
Finally we made it to Seattle. We were staying with a friend of Shash', Desire. She met us a the turn-off from the highway. She was very sweet - definitely a funky chick.
That night
she cooked dinner for us, we chatted and had a good ol' time.
